Toronto woman wanted for suspected hate crimes against minors on TTC buses: police

Police released the unknown woman's picture.

Police are looking for a woman who they suspect was motivated by hate when she allegedly harassed four minors on TTC buses in recent months.

The first incident occurred on Sept. 15 when the woman allegedly harassed three youths riding a bus in the Bathurst Street and Sheppard Avenue West area.

Then, on Oct. 31, police say the woman made “harassing comments” to another youth after boarding a bus in the same area. Police say she got off the bus at Bathurst Street and Laurelcrest Avenue.

The Toronto Police Hate Crime Unit is leading the investigation since they believe both incidents were “hate-motivated” offences.

The woman is described as wearing a beanie hat in both incidents, but she reportedly had blonde hair in September and black hair in October.

Still, police say they have determined that “the suspect is the same person in both occurrences.” They released this image of her:

Police ask anyone with information about the incidents to contact them at 416-808-3500 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or www.222tips.com.
