Quebec man jailed 27 days for driving while impaired with a loaded gun
Police also found brass knuckles and a bullet proof vest in the man's car.

A Quebec man has been sentenced to 27 days in jail after police found a loaded gun in his car last month.
28-year-old Drake John Eric Guitard Metallic from Listuguj, QC, was driving around Campbellton, New Brunswick, at around 2 AM on Oct. 17 when an RCMP officer pulled him over for suspected impaired driving.
When Metallic got out of the car, the officer reportedly saw “a firearm in plain sight.”
He arrested Metallic for impaired driving and searched his car, in which he found a loaded, unlocked gun, bullets, a bulletproof vest, brass knuckles, and drug paraphernalia.
Metallic appeared in court on Nov. 3 and pleaded guilty to:
Three counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Unsafe storage of a firearm.
Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired.
Unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Driving a motor vehicle while suspended.
The judge fined him $1,500 and sentenced him to 27 days in jail followed by 12 months of probation.
Metallic is also prohibited from owning guns for the next 10 years and from driving for the next 12 months.
