Two suspected predators both allegedly using Snapchat to lure and assault children were recently arrested in Edmonton, AB, and Sarnia, ON.

On Oct. 15, Edmonton Police arrested 29-year-old Tristan Lahue for allegedly sexually assaulting an underage boy with whom he communicated on Snapchat under the alias “Edm Gay Boy4ynger” and account name “Yegboi00.”

Police charged Lahue and released him under the condition that he stay away from kids under 16. For the time being, Lahue is also not allowed to own a cellphone or any other device capable of accessing the internet.

Three days later, Sarnia Police arrested 29-year-old Ritesh Kumar of Caledonia for allegedly groping a 14-year-old girl after grooming her on Snapchat.

Back in May, the girl started Snapping a man named “Rishu.” He had two usernames: B_RISHU01 and barrit999.

The girl told him she was 14. He said he was 20. They snapped back and forth for a month. He sent her nude photos and asked her to reciprocate.

The girl also received Uber Eats orders at school despite having never told “Rishu” where she went to school. Police believe he found her location on Snap Map.

They met in person for the first time in June when Kumar allegedly visited the girl’s house while her parents were away. During the visit, he allegedly gave her an iPhone so they could keep Snapping without her parents knowing. He also allegedly groped her.

They continued to Snap until early August 2025 when the girl’s parents found out and filed a police report.

On October 18, 2025, police arrested Kumar and held him for bail. They later remanded him into custody for being charged with the following:

  • Sexual Assault on a person under 16 years of age

  • Sexual Interference Possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material

  • Luring a person under 16 years of age by Telecommunication

  • Make sexually explicit material available to a person under 16 years of age

  • Invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age

None of the allegations against Kumar or Lahue have been tested in court.
