7 Winnipeg children arrested for allegedly raiding fast-food restaurants
The four boys and three girls are all between 12 and 15 years old.

Seven Winnipeg children aged 12-15 years old have been arrested for an alleged spree of violent robberies at several fast-food restaurants.
On the evening of Oct. 26, police received word that a group of kids had allegedly thrown a chair at a fast-food worker in a restaurant on McPhillips Street. The kids also reportedly stole a cash register before fleeing.
The same evening, police received multiple other reports that “several youth suspects” were raiding other restaurants and stores in the area.
The youths allegedly stole an empty cash register from another fast-food restaurant before barging into a retail store on Leila Avenue and throwing around their merchandise, causing about $50 in damage.
They reportedly went to another store on the same street, from which they stole a fire extinguisher and sprayed its contents around the parking lot.
The kids also allegedly wore masks while robbing another fast-food restaurant, where police say they “assaulted an employee, threw furnishings about the restaurant, and stole the cash register.”
Their alleged last hit of the night was on a grocery store, from which police say they stole $250 of merchandise before throwing “pavement stones” at a security guard who tried to stop them.
Police arrested the kids around 8 PM and charged them with robbery, mischief under $5,000, theft under $5,000, disguise with intent, and multiple breaches of conditions.
Six of the seven youths were detained in custody, and one was released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date. Their identities are protected from publication under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
No charges against them have been proven in court.
