⌛️ Today’s read is 3 minutes long.

Toronto police ran a woman over this week while handcuffing her in a Tim Horton’s parking lot.

23-year-old Hosay Hussaini was allegedly slashing tires with two large knives last Saturday in the Timmies parking lot near Jane St. and Alliance Ave. when police arrived.

Hussaini was sauntering toward a cop cruiser when an officer tased her. Four cops then converged on her—including the driver of the cruiser, who forgot to put it in park.

The SUV slowly rolled over the Hussaini’s legs until the driver, realizing his error, hopped back in the car and… slammed on the gas… (see for yourself 👇️)

Toronto Police spokeswoman Stephanie Sayer says Hussaini “did not sustain any injuries” during the arrest, but was taken to the hospital for an “assessment related to the [taser] deployment, as per our procedures.”

Sayer also says the force is “actively reviewing the circumstances” of what she called a “dynamic incident.”

“[We] are grateful there were no serious injuries during this dynamic incident,” she told the CBC.

Hussaini is charged with four counts of mischief and one count of wielding dangerous weapons. She awaits her court appearance.

A Toronto teenager may have committed a hate crime last month when she uttered “homophobic slurs” and “sprayed a noxious substance” at TTC subway passengers riding the night train.

The alleged assault happened around 1 AM on Oct. 21 near the Bloor-Yonge TTC station. A passenger captured it on video:

18-year-old Valentina Ponte Diaz was arrested this week and charged with assault and possession of a “dangerous weapon.”

However, police say they are treating the incident as a suspected “hate-motivated offence,” which means Diaz will face a harsher sentence if she is convicted of the charges laid against her.

Police say the victim of Diaz’s alleged assault sustained “minor injuries,” but did not specify what he was sprayed with.

Diaz’s bail hearing was scheduled for Nov. 6.

A man allegedly assaulted a delivery driver at a Clarington McDonald’s last Saturday night. Police say he may have been motivated by hate.

Around 9:30 PM on Saturday, Nov. 1, Durham Police were called to a McDonald’s on Regional Highway 2 after a man allegedly made “hateful comments” toward a delivery driver picking up food.

After a “verbal altercation,” police say the man assaulted the delivery driver, who sustained minor injuries.

Police arrived shortly after and arrested 41-year-old Aaron William Lee, who is charged with assault and uttering threats.

Police are currently consulting with Crown prosecutors to “determine whether hate was an aggravating factor” in the alleged assault.

If it were, then police say Lee could be looking at a steeper sentence if he’s convicted of the charges.

Lee was held for a bail hearing after his arrest.

And to think: he coulda skipped all of this.
