GENERATIONAL TALENT

Claire Leduc is a generational talent.

The 58-year-old Sudbury woman is facing charges after allegedly making over 3,000 prank calls in under 30 days.

Police were unfamiliar with Leduc’s game until they received a report earlier this year accusing her of clogging up a Sault Ste. Marie organization’s phone lines with repeated phone calls.

Sudbury Police warned Leduc to stop in early April.

Fat chance.

Leduc reportedly hopped right back on the phone lines and called the organization 364 more times between April 9 and 17, 83 times between August 12 and 15, and 572 times between August 15 and 26.

The organization—which police did not name—complained again that the prank calls were clogging up their phone lines.

This time, police obtained a warrant for Leduc’s arrest.

The professional prankster turned herself in and was arrested on Sept. 24.

Police charged her with three counts of ā€œHarrassing Communicationsā€ and two counts of ā€œMischief – Interfere with Lawful Use, Enjoyment, or Operation of Property.ā€

Leduc was released on bail to await her Nov. 24 court date.

This isn’t Leduc’s first time being charged for crank calls.

Back in 2023, police said she ā€œmade countless calls to Sault Police from Sudbury for non-emergency purposes, tying up phone lines and preventing 911 communicators from answering legitimate calls and radio transmissions.ā€

Leduc would often call ā€œover 100 times during a 12-hour shift,ā€ they said.

Simply incredible.
